● Operation Mode
The Gecko MkIII has three modes: E1, E2, and E3.
E1: This mode is preset pick mode. You can change the preset number with the foot switch, but MIDI signal will not be transmitted until you press the OK foot switch.
E2: This mode is preset immediate mode. Press the foot switch and the MIDI signal is sent every time the preset number changes.
E3: This mode is in direct mode. Press the foot switch and send the same MIDI signal to all channels every time the number changes.
● Preset
The Gecko MkIII has 20 presets. Each preset can store 1 PC (program change) messages on 16 MIDI channels.
E1 and E2 modes allow you to edit your presets. PC# can be set from 0 to 199. Also, if set to OFF, MIDI signal will not be sent to the MIDI channel.
Depending on the device on the receiver, there may be cases where it cannot receive a value beyond the PC#128.
MIDI channel and tap tempo
Each MIDI channel can be turned off independently globally MIDI channels that have been set to OFF globally are not displayed during preset editing, so you can shorten the setup.
Also, each MIDI channel can be used as a tap tempo control by setting the CC number to send when you press the OK/TAP foot switch. You can set a separate CC number per channel, so you can control up to 16 devices together and control tap tempo.
The CC number you set will match to the receiver device.
