Traumatic blood loss is one of the leading, preventable causes of death across the world. Our public access bleeding control, trauma, and STOP THE BLEED kits help anyone respond to life-threatening blood loss.
Each of our bleeding control kits contain a base assortment of contents necessary to respond to a uncontrolled bleeding emergency. In addition to these base contents, each level of kit determines which optional contents are available.
For Standard Kits, our customers have a choice of one of the three tourniquets below:
- Stretch, Wrap, and Tuck Tourniquet (SWAT-T) (pictured)
- Combat Application Tourniquet; Gen 7 (C-A-T)
- SAM Medical Extremity Tourniquet (SAMXT)
TourniquetsEach of our bleeding control kits contains some of the best hemmorrhage-stopping tourniquets on the market. Our customers have three options of tourniquet for any of our kits: The C-A-T, the SAMXT, and the SWAT-T. All three of these tourniquets are sufficient for stopping uncontrolled bleeding. The C-A-T and SAMXT are both endorsed by the TCCC, and are "windlass" tourniquets, which ensures they will fulfill any requirements such as those laid out by the ANSI 2021 guidelines.GauzeAll of our gauze options are high-quality, at least 6-ply, sterile gauze. The compressed gauze (2 per kit in standard and intermediate kits) is meant for use as a pressure dressing, and measures 4.5" x 4.1 yards, which ensures there is enough to use as a compression dressing. In our kits with a hemostatic dressing, there is only one compressed gauze pack.Emergency Trauma DressingsThe emergency trauma dressing (ETD) is a compression dressing 6" x 52", which is used to treat abdonminal wounds or other areas that could benefit from a compression dressing. These sterile dressings come with an extra combine pad for placement over the wound, and multiple strips of velcro to ensure there is no loosening of the bandage after application.Optional: Hemostatic DressingsOur premium kits come with a hemostatic dressing, which utilizes kaolin to quicken the clotting process. These dressings are used for packing inside the wound, near the source of the bleeding. Woven through or impregnated with kaolin, these are vital components that can help the clotting cascade.Optional: Chest SealsOur intermediate and premium kits come with a chest seal twin-pack, which are designed for helping respond to penetrating thorasic wounds. These devices are particularly helpful with gunshot wounds, and the twin-pack is necessary for both entry and exit wounds.Trauma ShearsAll of our ktis come with heavy-duty trauma shears for the removal of clothing in the way of a response to a life-threatening hemmorrhage.MarkerThe permanent marker is a necessary component of bleeding control kits because it can be used to number victims and be used to indicate time of application of other devices, such as the tourniquets.Emergency BlanketEmergency blankets are critical to ensuring victims are comfrtable and do not enter shock while responders are on the way.Nitrile GlovesPPE is of a critical importance to any responder. Our kits come with 2 pairs of gloves, so there is a spare in case one is broken, or if there are bultiple responders.
