The Mountain Radio Kit – 1 Radio & 1 Waterproof Hand Mic delivers a rugged, license-free communication system designed for backcountry travel, ski touring, alpine missions, climbing routes, and overland exploration. This kit pairs the award-winning Rocky Talkie Mountain Radio with the IP67-rated Waterproof Hand Mic for fast, shoulder-level communication in any weather.

Designed and tested in the Colorado Rockies, the Mountain Radio features a specialized lithium-ion battery providing 3–5 days of runtime even in -20°F temperatures. The shatterproof LED screen, tough thermoplastic body, and climbing-rated Trango® Quantum Carabiner with reinforced leash ensure maximum durability in technical or high-exposure terrain.

With 2 watts of output (the maximum allowed for license-free communication), the Mountain Radio reaches 35+ miles in ideal line-of-sight and 1–5 miles in backcountry terrain. It works right out of the box — no setup and no license required.

The Waterproof Hand Mic adds convenience and accessibility with a built-in speaker, microphone, push-to-talk button, and glove-friendly design. Clip it to your pack strap or harness and keep your radio protected while communicating instantly in snow, wind, and wet conditions.
